As promised here is the information on the podcast workshops next week. Space is limited so please do not send everyone from your campus. I am not going to demonstrate how to create the boxes. I am only going to demo the following:
* How to plug in the microphone and put in the battery.
* How to use the key to record a session.
* How to log into the hosting server to "edit" the title and description, select the RSS feed, and release it.
* How to download the file to make changes to it.
* How to upload the new mp3 file.
* How a student can listen to it on their computer.
* How a student can download the file to a generic mp3 player or flash drive.
* How to subscribe to the class rss feed in iTunes.
* How to import the rss feed into moodle.
Some of this will be DEMONSTRATION ONLY and other pieces will be hands-on. If there is time I can actually SHOW a very quick session in how to make changes to the mp3 file using Wavepad and RiverPast software - both are free. I also have a link to Audacity and tutorials for those who want to learn to use that software. One of these days I'll take the time to learn it, too.
People need to RSVP or they won't have an account and will not be doing hands-on the computer at all. I already have 4 people who have RSVP'd for each day and there are only 12 computers in the lab. I plan to have no more than 3 podcast boxes in the room for practicing.
Two workshops next week for those wanting to learn to podcast will take place as follows:
1. Monday May 14 - 2-3 - Room LRC-265
2. Thursday, May 17 - 2:30-3:30 - Room LRC-265
